Dad Brain collects the following types of information to provide and improve the app experience:

1.1 Setup Name

We collect the name you provide during account setup. This is used to personalise your experience within the app, such as displaying your name on the dashboard and in partner sync features.

1.2 Setup Email Address

We collect your email address when you create an account. Your email is used to:

Authenticate your account securely
Enable partner invitations and syncing with Mum Brain
Send account-related communications if required

1.3 Setup User ID

A unique User ID is generated when you create your account. This identifier is used internally to associate your data with your account and to enable the partner sync system between Dad Brain and Mum Brain.

1.4 Coarse Location

Dad Brain requests access to your approximate (coarse) location to power the Dad Spots feature, which helps you find nearby parks, medical facilities, family-friendly restaurants, and other relevant locations.

We use coarse location only — we do not track precise GPS coordinates. Location data is used in real time to perform local searches and is not stored on our servers.

1.5 Diagnostic Data

We collect anonymised diagnostic and crash data to help us identify and fix technical issues. This may include:

App crash reports
Error logs and performance metrics
Feature usage patterns (anonymised)

Diagnostic data does not include personally identifiable information and cannot be used to identify you.

1.6 Environmental Scanning

Dad Brain may use your device camera or sensors for environmental scanning features. This data is processed on-device only and is not transmitted to our servers or stored.

2. How We Use Your Information

The information collected is used solely to:

Provide and personalise the Dad Brain app experience
Enable partner syncing with Mum Brain
Power location-based features such as Dad Spots
Maintain account security and authentication
Diagnose and fix technical issues

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. Your data may be shared only in the following limited circumstances:

With Firebase (Google) for secure authentication, database storage, and cloud functions — subject to Google's Privacy Policy
With your connected partner's Mum Brain account, where you have explicitly accepted a partner invitation
As required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users

4. Data Storage and Security

Your account data is stored securely using Google Firebase. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information from unauthorised access, alteration, or disclosure.
